Job description
About the Department:
The Communications and Engagement team at HCPC is responsible for making sure that the work of the organisation lands effectively – in the way that best helps protect the public.
Our Digital team is within the larger Communications and Engagement department. It’s made up of the Digital Communications Manager and Digital Engagement Manager (who are responsible for line managing the Digital Communications Officers) and the Digital Communications and Content Lead.
The department is also home to the Strategic Communications, Internal Communications, Stakeholder Engagement and Public Affairs teams.
About the role:
Come and join a small team that is growing! We are a friendly, collaborative bunch who’ll welcome you into the world of health and care regulation in no time at all.
The Digital Communications Officers will craft high quality content and drive impactful digital communications across multiple channels. Their work will help to showcase our organisation, drive engagement and ensure stakeholders understand and support our role and strategic direction.
As part of the Digital team, the Digital Communications Officers will collaborate across the organisation and with external stakeholders, supporting content creation from briefing to publication. They will use analytics tools to bring insights to our output and plans, optimising content in line with our communications and digital strategies.
Some of the key responsibilities include:
- Work closely with internal and external stakeholders, agencies and suppliers to plan, develop and produce digital communications that meet business needs, support the HCPC’s communications and digital strategies, and meet user needs and objectives
- Proactively support the content creation process including briefing, content production, editing, accommodating feedback and approvals, and publication
- Effectively optimise content for different channels and audiences, bringing out key messages and driving engagement
- Create appealing digital content, ensuring a high quality of output by paying close attention to detail, adhering to brand guidelines, using digital best practice and understanding of design principles as appropriate
Candidate requirements:
We are seeking versatile and enthusiastic professionals to join our team and help deliver our new communications strategy. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in digital communications, content creation and website content management, with sound knowledge of social media, design and videography. They will have excellent verbal and written communication skills, initiative, sound judgement and the ability to work independently or as part of a team, and they’ll be motivated, flexible, able to manage multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines.
- Experience planning, producing and publishing engaging content on digital communications channels, meeting accessibility standards and adhering to digital best practice
- Experience collaborating with internal and external stakeholders, building strong working relationships, ideally in a third sector organisation
- Able to produce high-quality visual content using industry-standard software and adhering to brand guidelines and design standards as appropriate
- Able to monitor performance of content, using analytics and reporting to inform decisions and plans
- Able to use creativity and communication skills to collaborate with the wider Communications and Engagement team and proactively find new opportunities
- Understanding of best practice in design, photography, video, or animation is a plus
