As our Internal Communications Manager, you’ll play a pivotal role in helping to build on the strong sense of community and the warm, welcoming culture that exists here at the HCPC. You’ll work closely with people across every part of the organisation to provide premium level internal communications support – from making sure that everyone is aware of the latest news, through to running inspiring all staff events. You’ll be part of a small close-knit communications team, working in partnership with our HR colleagues to involve and engage the rest of the organisation. This is a varied role, which will involve running a campaign to involve staff in the development of our next corporate strategy, involving staff in helping to shape the way we work, helping to connect colleagues from all departments, and bringing our purpose and values to life.

Purpose and Main Duties

In this role, you will deliver timely, clear and impactful employee engagement communication plans and activities to:

  • Support the HCPC in its role as an employer.
  • Involve staff in helping to shape our policies, procedures, and the way we work.
  • Keep colleagues up to date with the latest news from across the organisation.
  • celebrate achievements from all departments and teams.
  • Equip employees to act as ambassadors for the HCPC.
  • Facilitate and encourage connection and collaboration.
  • Unite employees under one brand, helping colleagues to understand how they contribute to our purpose/vision and bring to life our values.

The post holder will also provide guidance to management on employee engagement.

Candidate Requirements

You’ll have experience of working with leadership, creating compelling content, and of developing innovative communications plans and campaigns. In addition to this, you will need to have strong content management skills and be able to juggle multiple projects at any one time. Experience of communicating complex topics in a clear and engaging way, and of managing multiple channels, is essential.

  • Experience of developing and implementing an employee engagement strategy and measuring its effectiveness.
  • Experience of managing internal communication channels including, but not limited to, intranet, yammer, email newsletters, briefing systems and events. Ideally, experience of adapting to and leveraging emerging communication technologies.
  • Proven experience of crafting creative and compelling content for a variety of audiences across a range of channels.
  • Creative mindset with the ability to develop inspiring and innovative communication materials.
  • Experience of advising senior managers on internal communications activities, supporting them to communicate in an accessible and engaging way, and to demonstrate their genuine desire to listen to and involve staff.
  • Strong experience of exercising initiative with minimum supervision and strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
  • Demonstrable experience of improving the way the internal communications function engages with staff.
  • Ability to manage stakeholders at all levels, including the ability to persuade and negotiate.
