Job description
This is a great time to join a world leading regulator currently delivering an exciting digital transformation programme. The Senior Security Engineer will play a pivotal role in ensuring the security and integrity of HCPC's IT infrastructure, applications, and data. This key position will be responsible for design, implementation, and maintenance of robust security strategies and solutions that align with HCPC’s regulatory requirements. The role is essential in mitigating security risks, safeguarding sensitive information, and supporting HCPC’s ongoing efforts to maintain a secure environment.
- Lead the design and implementation of security architecture to protect HCPC’s IT systems, networks, and applications.
- Conduct risk assessments, vulnerability testing, and threat analysis to identify and address security gaps.
- Ensure compliance with data protection regulations, including GDPR, and work with the wider team to uphold regulatory standards.
- Oversee incident response and manage the investigation of security breaches, ensuring prompt and effective resolutions.
- Collaborate with internal teams to provide security guidance for system development, deployments, and integrations.
- Monitor and maintain security systems, including firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and encryption tools.
- Keep abreast of emerging security threats and technologies, advising on proactive measures and improvements to HCPC’s security posture.
Candidate Requirements
We are after an individual who is:
- Passionate about IT Security.
- Provide security expertise and collaborate with IT and development teams.
- Manage and improve Microsoft Secure Score.
- Define and communicate necessary changes to relevant engineers.
- Plan, manage, and remediate penetration testing activities.
- Understand network protocols, security concepts, and monitoring tools.
- Represent security interests in prioritization meetings and audits.
- Happy to share what they know and collaborate with their teammates.
- An enthusiastic problem solver with excellent troubleshooting abilities.
- Excited to use and support the latest Microsoft technologies
- A hard-working individual who demonstrates fantastic customer service skills.
- Ensuring there is awareness of emerging cyber threats and potential new remediations.
