Job description

The Health and Care Professions Council is a UK-wide regulator, committed to delivering high quality, efficient regulation in order to protect the public. We regulate 15 professions, including paramedics, radiographers, occupational therapists, and biomedical scientists.

 

As a Senior Facilities Officer within our Office Services Department, you will support the day-to-day operations of our facilities, covering a broad range of services. This role involves both practical and administrative responsibilities, ensuring our facilities are maintained to the highest standards. Our Facilities team plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our buildings and services, supporting our mission to protect the public.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure effective and efficient building maintenance and repairs are undertaken in a timely and safe manner.
  • Maintain compliance with all health and safety, fire, and environmental legislation and standards.
  • Organize and manage contracted services such as security, mail, cleaning, office moves, and catering.
  • Support and help organize the proactive maintenance schedule, ensuring high-quality work and value for money.
  • Deputize for the Facilities Manager when necessary.
  • Provide occasional cover for Reception.
  • Be part of a rota for out-of-hours attendance in the event of urgent requirements (e.g., fire and security).

About You:

  • Relevant qualifications in facilities management or a related field.
  • Experience with HVAC, fire safety, health and safety, security systems, building maintenance, and office interiors/exteriors.
  • Strong administrative skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and projects.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work some weekends and be available for out-of-hours emergencies.
