Job description
This is an exciting opportunity to join an organisation passionate about protecting the public and upholding regulatory standards across healthcare on a fixed term maternity cover contract ending in December 2025. Fitness to practise is one of HCPC’s core regulatory functions. In this role you will provide strategic and operational direction to a multidisciplinary team responsible for fitness to practise, protection of title and declaration cases and the department’s administrative case support function.
Your role will be to:
- Lead and drive the performance of the team, planning resources and workload to ensure effective use of available resources to meet current business needs and prepare for future challenges.
- Analyse management information and other qualitative data to identify emerging issues and risks, taking a proactive and collaborative approach to solving cross-functional operational issues
- Work collaboratively with other Operational Managers and colleagues across the organisation to deliver the department’s strategic objectives and priorities, actively engaging with others to develop and embed robust and effective change.
- Ensure the team have the skills and capabilities required to deliver high quality service outputs, promoting a culture of high performance and accountability, where the team are engaged and motivated to deliver.
- Utilise quality assurance strategies to identify, develop and share best practice, ensuring that recommendations and learning from audits, reviews and other feedback is taken forward and embedded in the department.
- Be a role model for the department’s commitment to embrace change and different ways of working.
Candidate Requirements
You will be a visionary leader, have excellent communication skills, work strategically and collaboratively to deliver shared objectives, and have experience of managing teams in delivering time and quality critical business processes. You will also have experience of working within healthcare, professional regulation or other regulatory environments.
